Babylon records all sessions so that you have the option to playback these within the app which can be helpful to remind you of what has been discussed in-session.
The only people who have immediate access to consultation notes and recordings, are you and your consulting therapist/or clinician.
Otherwise, only in a risk situation (i.e. where there is concern about your safety or the safety of others) would this require the Medical Director/Senior Clinical Management team to review a recording, or to investigate a complaint.
Therapists/Clinician’s are also audited as part of their practice to ensure they are practicing within the guidelines of their relevant professional bodies and to maintain a high quality of service across Babylon. In these cases, random session recordings might be selected in order to clinically review therapist/clinician performance by the Therapy Lead.
No other access to members’ record is possible or permitted without your expressed permission.
Babylon also do not store personal health data on members’ phones. The recordings are available to playback with the App. Members are asked to choose a password to access the app and input this a second time to access their clinical notes and recordings. Members are responsible for keeping this password confidential and should not share it with anyone. All personal data is held on secure servers. Medical records are stored for a period of 10 years after which time they may be deleted permanently upon request. Medical records cannot be deleted prior to this for medical legal reasons but they may be put ‘beyond use’ which would make them inaccessible but stored in an encrypted state.
If there is a risk that someone close to the member (e.g. partner or family member) may access the recordings or coerce the member into giving them access then this will be discussed with the member and removing it from members’ view might be considered beneficial.
Members are encouraged to choose a unique strong password known only to them and keep this confidential and, where there is a risk to the member of others’ accessing the app, it should be uninstalled between sessions. Data will not be lost.
As stated in the Terms and Conditions, members should not publish their consultation recordings on social media or any other media sharing platforms.
