The Babylon Therapy Service is based on a short-term therapy model. Your therapist will make a recommendation for how many sessions you might require at the outset of therapy and this will be guided by the current research and government guidelines (NICE).
Generally, between 6-10 counselling sessions might be recommended for depression over an 8-12 week period. For other issues, your therapist will make a clinical judgement regarding the number of sessions required based on the assessment; i.e. the presenting issue, severity and impact on life overall.
For CBT; 6, 8, 10 and up to 20 sessions might be required for specific problems (in line with NICE guidelines). These might be on a weekly, bi-weekly or fortnightly basis depending on the issue.
These are given as a general guide however some flexibility is allowed for. Booster / follow-up sessions might also be offered if the therapist and client agree this would be helpful.
