Patients living in, working in or just passing through the London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington can download the NHS 111 app from either App Store or Google Play by searching for ‘NHS 111’. In addition, people calling 111 are provided with information about the app whilst their call is being connected to 111. Those calling about themselves, who are aged 16 or over will be given the option to download the app or stay on the line as usual and access 111 through the phone service.
If they download the NHS 111 app, people then complete the fast, easy-to-use registration process and answer questions in the app about their symptoms, after which they will be directed to a service that best meets their needs. This includes connecting them to a clinician in the NHS 111 service, operated by London Central and West Unscheduled Care Collaborative.
The app will use location information to restrict access to the five boroughs in north central London.
NHS 111 powered by babylon is a separate app to the babylon health app.
